Sioux Indian Pudding |
"This recipe is over 100 years vintage. Though I'm Cherokee and no longer Sioux, this recipe continues to be a favourite."
Ingredients :
- three cups milk
- 1/3 cup cornmeal
- 1/four cup dark molasses
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- half teaspoon floor ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon floor cinnamon

- Preheat oven to 275 levels F (135 tiers C). Butter a 1 quart baking dish.
- In a large saucepan over medium warmth, prepare dinner milk till bubbles form at edges. Slowly stir cornmeal and molasses into milk. Continue to cook dinner and stir until thickened, 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, salt, ginger and cinnamon. Pour into organized dish.
- Bake in preheated oven 2 hours, until set. Serve warm or cold.
