"A variant on the vintage Pennsylvania Dutch favourite, Shoo Fly Pie. Not as candy or gooey as Shoo Fly Pie, this cake is tons higher the day once you bake it. Works really well as cupcakes. I made mini cupcakes for Christmas, continually a hit."
Ingredients :
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 1/4 cups boiling water
- four cups all-reason flour
- 1 pound brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- three/4 cup vegetable oil
