Capirotada

"This is a Mexican bread pudding made with cheese and is traditionally served all through Lent. Colaciones are Mexican anise candies."

Ingredients :

8 slices French bread
half of cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
eight slices Cheddar cheese
2 ounces colaciones chocolates (optionally available)
1 half of cups packed brown sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 half cups water

Instructions :

Toast the French bread and break it into 2 inch pieces.
Preheat oven to 325 levels F (a hundred sixty five stages C).
In a lightly greased 8x8 inch baking dish, unfold about half of bread pieces on the bottom of the dish; sprinkle with half of the raisins, nuts and cheese.
