- Place the eggs, vanilla, vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon of the sugar, and the flour and salt in the bowl of an electric mixer geared up with the paddle and blend on low velocity until integrated. Then beat on excessive velocity for five mins.
- Remove the paddle and scrape the batter down the edges of the bowl. Rest the dough in the bowl, protected, till smooth and spongy outdoor, about 1 hour. Then dispose of it from the bowl, it is going to be sticky, and make a ball out of it.
- Preheat oven to 350 stages F (175 stages C) and grease 2 baking sheets.
- Sprinkle a work surface with the 1 cup sugar, approximately 1/8 inch deep. Place the dough within the middle, flatten it slightly with a rolling pin and sprinkle the dough liberally with sugar.
- Roll the dough to a thickness of one/8 inch, a rectangle about 18 by 12 inches. Then, the use of a pastry cutter or a stupid knife, cut out the dough into strips three/4 inch huge and a couple of inches lengthy. Lift every strip, twist in the center to make a bow tie and place on the cookie sheets, leaving 1/2 inch between every strip.
- Bake the cookies for 25 to half-hour at the center rack of the oven, till the cookies are tough to touch on all corners and golden brown. (If the use of 1 oven, placed the cookie sheets on the top and middle racks, then switch them midway). To check for doneness, smash a cookie in half. If it's far doughy or too tender, it isn't done but. Return to the oven for a couple of minutes extra.
