Ingredients :
- 2 (nine inch) pie shells, baked
- 3 cups white sugar
- three cups water
- four eggs, separated
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- half cup light corn syrup
- 1/four cup butter, melted
- half of teaspoon vanilla extract
- half of cup all-reason flour
- half teaspoon cream of tartar

- Beat together egg yolks, evaporated milk, syrup, melted butter or margarine, vanilla, half of cup sugar, and flour.
- Brown 2 cups sugar in an iron skillet till mild brown. Remove from warmness. Add water; and return to warmness until sugar dissolves. Pour in egg yolk aggregate. Cook till thickened, then simmer five mins. Pour filling into 2 baked pie shells.
- Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and half cup sugar; continue to beat until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over pies, sealing the rims.
- Bake at 325 ranges F (one hundred sixty five levels C) for about 15 minutes.
