Spanish Bar Cake

"A chewy bar cake made with raisins. I consider my Mother making this each week for us six youngsters."

Ingredients :

four cups water
2 cups raisins
1 cup shortening
four cups all-cause flour
2 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon floor cloves
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon floor cinnamon
1 teaspoon floor allspice
half of teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts
