Ingredients :
- 1 cup butter flavored shortening
- 2 cups white sugar
- three eggs

- 3 1/2 cups all-reason flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup white sugar

- Preheat oven to 350 tiers F (one hundred seventy five degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
- In a massive bowl, cream together the shortening and 2 cups sugar till clean. Stir inside the eggs, one after the other, then the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt; stir into the creamed aggregate alternately with the buttermilk till nicely mixed. Place big heaping tablespoonfuls onto organized cookie sheets approximately 3 inches aside. Sprinkle each cookie with some of the closing sugar.
- Bake for 10 to 12 mins inside the preheated oven, until edges start to turn golden. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks. When cool, save in an airtight container.
