- 2 complete artichokes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- salt and pepper to flavor

- Fill the pan with simply sufficient water to cover backside. Bring to a full boil over high warmth. While water is heating, trim and discard the stems and hard outer leaves of artichokes. Tuck slivers of butter and slices of garlic into artichoke leaves.
- When water is boiling, location steamer insert in pot and set artichokes in steamer, stem-facet down. Cover pot with lid and permit artichokes to steam for about 20 minutes, until soft.
