- 1 cup all-reason flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- three/4 cup shortening
- 1/four cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups cornflakes cereal

- In small cup, cover chopped dates with boiling water and allow soak for 10 - 15 mins. (If necessary, upload extra boiling water to cover.) Drain liquid and discard.
- Combine flour, cocoa and baking powder and set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in dates and beat in vanilla extract. Gradually mixture in the dry components. Fold in corn flakes.
- Break off portions of dough (walnut sized). Roll into balls and vicinity 1-half inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
