Big Pot Sauce |
"Slow cooked sugo (spaghetti sauce) similar to Nonna's."
Ingredients :
- 1 big diced onion
- 20 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon overwhelmed crimson pepper
- 2 (4 ounce) hyperlinks hot Italian sausage
- 1 cup dried oregano
- 1/four cup dried basil
- 7 (28 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 cup crimson wine

- In a medium skillet, cook sausages over medium heat till juices run clean. Drain, and cut into chunk sized pieces. Set apart.
- In large (13 quart) stock pot over medium heat, saute onion, garlic and overwhelmed crimson pepper in olive oil till golden brown. Stir in sausage portions, half the oregano and half the basil, and cook dinner 10 mins. Stir within the tomatoes, increase the heat to high and bring to a boil.
- Stir inside the closing oregano and basil, reduce warmth to low, and simmer 90 minutes, stirring on occasion.
- Pour within the red wine, and with a hand-held mixer, cautiously blend the sauce in the pot until the tomatoes were chopped into small portions and the sauce is thick and chunky. Serve.
