Two Part Angel Cake

"This is a recipe from my grandmother's recipe collection."

Ingredients :

6 egg whites
half of teaspoon cream of tartar
1/four teaspoon salt
3/4 cup white sugar
half of cup all-reason flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 egg yolks
3/four cup white sugar
1/four teaspoon salt
3/four cup all-purpose flour
1/four cup boiling water
3/four teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

To make Bottom/White component: Beat whites with salt until frothy. Add cream of tartar and retain beating till stiff, however no longer dry. Sift half of cup flour and three/4 cup sugar four instances (one after the other). Add sugar steadily, then fold in flour. Add in half teaspoon vanilla. Put into ungreased angel cake pan. Prepare top.
To Make Top/Yellow Part: Beat yolks till mild. Add 3/four cup sugar, which has been sifted four times, steadily. Beat for 3 minutes. Add three/4 cup flour and baking powder, which has been sifted together 4 times. Alternate flour aggregate with hot water. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour this mixture over pinnacle of first batter.
Bake at 325 tiers F (165 tiers C) for 40 minutes.
